Farmingdale,
NJ (December 1, 2006) – Construction at Hoffman’s Marina
in Brielle, New Jersey, is underway, promising private
housing coupled with public access to the Manasquan River.
Construction that began nearly a year ago is giving way to a
model unit that will be open in Spring 2007.
The project includes construction of an 18-unit
age-restricted townhouse community on the 1.77-acre site.
There will be a total of three buildings with private
parking (one parking space will be in the attached private
garage and another will be located in the covered driveway
at the front of each unit). Currently, there are 45 boat
slips at the site, and nine more will be added.
The public will enjoy 57 public parking spaces and open
access to the marina, with a designated loading and
unloading area, as well as a pump-out station for boats tied
directly to the sanitary sewer system. A one-story marina
building will include a bait and tackle shop, public
restrooms, dock master services and minor boat repair
service. A mobile crane service will be used for boat
retrieval and launching during the fall and spring seasons.
When the weather turns cool, the public access parking area
will be use for winter month dry-dock services, which will
accommodate about 10 30-foot, 16, 25-foot and 14 24-foot
boats. In all, it will accommodate 40 boats off-season.
The site is also environmentally advanced, and was one of
the first projects approved by the New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection (NJDEP) under the state’s newest
stormwater regulations.
“We have incorporated in our design new water quality
measures, which include a manufactured treatment unit called
a storm filters and a natural device called a vegetated
filter to further ensure water quality by filtering the
rainwater and eliminating pollutants,” says Tim Lurie,
director of engineering.
