Timothy P. Lurie, PE, PP, CME
Mr. Lurie holds licenses as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Ohio and Virginia. He is also a licensed Professional Planner (PP) and Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) in New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1990 and a Master’s Degree in Coastal Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1993. Mr. Lurie joined DW Smith Associates in 1997 and became a Principal of the firm in 2002.
Mr. Lurie specializes in Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering and Planning. Since 1993, he has had extensive experience in Land Development, Landfill Design, ADA Analysis, Environmental Permitting and CAFRA Design. He is also considered an expert testimony consultant by the Monmouth County Superior Court.
Mr. Lurie’s professional memberships include the Ocean County Society of Professional Engineers (Past President), NJ Society of Municipal Engineers, Utility and Transportation Contractors Association, NJ Builders Association, Builders League of South Jersey and Shore Builders Association of Central NJ, where he serves on the Associates Committee of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Lurie is an active member of his community, having served on the Point Pleasant Beach Borough Council and Planning Board for a number of years. He was highly involved in the restoration of Point Pleasant Beach following Superstorm Sandy and continues to support efforts to repair and rebuild the Jersey Shore. Additionally, Mr. Lurie is currently a mentor of high school seniors at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST) in Sandy Hook for senior design projects in the coastal engineering field.
